The DHC-2 sunk while taxiing at Crawfish Lake. We flew over to assess the situation.

10:11 AM next day: We returned with equipment. Jim and Peter paddle out to check it out.

10:33 AM - Jim rows as Peter attaches lines which go through pulleys tied to trees on the beach.

Jim is on the beach tending the lines. Peter, Bill and Greg are hidden in the trees, using swifters.

10:13 AM - The floats nosed into the sand.

11:15 AM - The aircraft started to lift.

11:57 AM - Going slow to let it drain.

12:09 PM - Almost there, and no damage.

12:11 PM - Right side up. Time to remove everything and dry it out.

2:41 PM - Every log is a clothesline.

2:41 PM - Replacing mags, oil etc.

3:13 PM - Running up. After that we called it a day and flew home.

Next morning we flew back in and Greg checked it out.

The taxi test was good. Greg flies off to Campbell River.
