300th Cabin Extension Kit, 150th Alaska Door!

A few months ago in an interview on CBC, Dave Curtis, CEO of Viking Air, said there are 650 de Havilland Beavers still flying. As Viking Air holds the type certificate for the Beaver, I’ll take his word for it.

When we have installed the Cabin Extension Kit and Alaska Door in N9041X, there will be 300 Beavers with the Sealand Aviation Cabin Extension Kit, and 150 Beavers with the Alaska Door.  46% of Beavers have the Cabin Kit and 23% have an Alaska Door. We’re pretty proud of that.

Part of the sucess is due to Dick Hiscocks, P.Eng. Dick was one of the original designers of the Beaver, and was a consulting engineer for the design of the Cabin Extension and the Alaska Door. When he gave his blessing we knew we had a winner.

Bob and Tyson started on the installation of Kit 300 Door 150 yesterday. The Beaver is N9041X, S/N 260.
